MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – A Milwaukee family is still shaken up after three armed suspects broke into their house while they were at home.
CBS 58’s Tori Bokios spoke to the homeowner who says she was scared for her life.
The homeowner says that the three suspects came in through the gate, walked down the path, climbed two steps, opened the door, kicked it in and it was all caught on surveillance.
The break-in happened near 35th and Oklahoma around 10:30 Saturday night while Thevy Pena and her 12-year-old son were home. Their four security cameras show the armed suspects break down the door and ransack the main floor.
Pena says the suspects were in the home about two minutes and took off with about $5,000 worth of their belongings, including her purse, a laptop, and a gaming system.
Pena does not want us to show her face, but says she and her son hid in her bedroom and had a plan for if the burglars came upstairs.
“I told my son like if they come upstairs and try to break into their room, we’re going to have to probably jump off the balcony because my bedroom, my balcony is right there so I told him like if something happens we’re just going to have to find our way down there,” said Pena.
Pena says the suspects never came upstairs and from her view on the balcony, she saw the suspects take off in a red car.
Right now, Milwaukee Police are still looking for suspects.
